As the founder and president of Healthstar Associates, Barry develops product marketing plans and manages a field sales force of seven while continuing to call on a broad range of customers in order to accelerate sales and gain timely intelligence on all market segments. 

Barry began his healthcare career as assistant marketing director for Cenco Medical Health and marketing director for Tetra Co., both in Chicago, Illinois.  He founded Healthstar Associates’ predecessor company in 1978 with a partner, and became sole principal of his own firm in 1991. 

Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul University.  He currently is a director of the Health Industry Representatives Association (HIRA) and a board member of the University of Illinois’ Sigma Pi Alumni Association.
